Tuesday, December 22, 2009 |

Its party time folks! and you might love to have yummy chocolaty cakes, desserts and other food items, that are high on calorie. The food items in Christmas and New Year party are pretty similar. You'll be making and eating chocolate food, pizzas, burgers and lots more, and the tempting food will surely make your tongue lick. But to keep things in moderation become very essential, when it comes to excessive partying. So here are some ideas to keep your food intake in moderation this festive season:

  • Pick smaller size plate, because your mind will consider it a full plate regardless of its size!
  • For every glass of alcohol or soft drink, have a glass of water.
  • It's better to clean the table as soon as everyone finishes eating instead of eating and picking leftovers.
  • Always go for home made mixed drinks instead of canned drinks.
  • Don’t be afraid to take things home for later.
  • Its better to put out some of the available food so people don’t over serve themselves, more can always come out as required.
  • Where there are choices, take a little of many things rather than lots of one thing. This ensures you are getting a balanced meal and not overloading on a fatty food.
So, its always better to take nutritious and light food, and to have chocolate or your favorite dessert after your meals, this will add additional taste and oodles of oomph to your food.
